Our vision is to build a loving community that follows Christ to reach our community that is lost without Him.
Passionately love God
Our vision is to develop a community of believers who are experiencing peace, joy, confidence and stability because they are living life from their personal inner core of worship and walk with God. Our vision is that in our corporate worship we will come into the presence of God with a sense of reverence and celebration. We dream of an expanding Worship Team(s) of gifted vocalists and musicians.
Compassionately reach out
Our vision is to develop a community of believers that is building relationships with newcomers and the unchurched caring about them, praying for them, sharing a verbal witness with them and bringing and including them in the ministries of the church. Our vision is to see family and friends come to now Christ and for 25% of Oakbrook’s annual numerical growth to be by conversion.
God has called us to penetrate the Oshkosh area and introduce people to Jesus Christ. Through ‘need-centered’ ministries and ministries of compassion our dream is to impact our community. We dream of multiplying Community Care Ministries that meets the needs of people.
Fathfully teach
We envision our teaching ministry as one that focuses on life change, not just comprehension. We dream of a ‘teaching team’ of two or three gifted teachers leading Sunday Worship. We dream of an expanding ’shepherding team’ of gifted lay facilitators and teachers leading small groups. We dream of a trained Christian education faculty that provides one of the best teaching and shepherding ministries for children and adults in the Oshkosh area.
Intentionally make
Our vision is to be intentional and effective in the process of helping believers become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. By means of worship services, Bible study fellowships, small groups, discipleship relationships, and accountability groups. Our vision is to:
• Help believers learn the basics of the Christian life
• Build up the Body of Christ in love and the unity of the faith
• Train Christians to lead exemplary lives in the home, marketplace, community and church
• Train and encourage Christians to build strong marriages and families
• Train parents to model loving God and to diligently train their children in the way of the Lord
• Training Christians to be faithful stewards of their time, talent and treasure
Our mission is too important and the time is too short to be nonchalant about training others to be disciples. Our vision is to multiply our ministry by preparing people for leadership roles in the church and community. We envision an expanding network of leaders who are apprenticing other leaders to shepherd God’s people and to provide moral leadership in their families, workplace and community.
Enthusiastically serve
Our vision is to prepare Christians to answer the call of God and to fulfill their God-given purpose and vocation using their gifts to serve Him. We dream of a fellowship of Christians serving God in the area of their passion and gifts working together as a team.
Naturally mother
We envision expanding the presence and influence of Christ in our area and around the world by planting healthy, disciple-making churches. We believe this is God’s ‘normal’ plan for healthy churches.
